The price depends on the quality of the agate, its size etc.Pieces of ocean jasper that have been rounded and overpolished. These agates were known many years ago but the locality was lost till recently and have now been heavily exploited. As with all good thing, they are each year getting harder to get.
Ocean Jasper is found in a remote area of the north west coast of Madagascer. There are no roads into the area and all the material must be taken out by small boats. The material was found outcroping in the beach and running into the ocean. Some of the first material had barnacles on it.
